AN ADVENT REFLECTION

Christmas time is the time of giving gifts and sharing.

Why not give the gift of yourself by spending time with the lonely, volunteering to help feed the hungry, donating warm clothes to a local homeless shelter, doing household chores for relatives/neighbors

(snow shoveling, house cleaning/repairs) donating a Christmas to a needy family,

or providing the gift of a special experience

(sledding, sleigh ride, ice skating, going to see the neighborhood light displays) to someone in your life.

You will be glad you did!

“KEEP CHRIST IN CHRISTMAS”

POSTER CONTEST

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Council 11464 Knights of Columbus would like to invite any child to participate in their

"Keep Christ in Christmas" Poster Contest. The hope for this program is the child will come to a deeper understanding

of the true meaning of Christmas, and that their artwork will bring others to remember Christ in Christmas.

Council will award $25 Amazon gift card per age/grade group (Grades K, 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8).

Information and entry forms are available in the vestibule or Parish Office during normal business hours.

Poster(s) and completed entry must be turned into the Parish Office by Sunday December 22nd.

OPLATKI CHRISMAS WAFERS

The breaking and sharing of Christmas Wafers is an age-old custom, a symbol of family love and unity. The thin wafer bearing the Christmas characters is broken by the head of the family and distributed to each one at the table. It is a beautiful Christmas custom for the family.

Christmas wafer packets will soon be available on the table in the entranceway

It can all be a bit overwhelming and make some folks feel anxious and somewhat pessimistic about the future.

You can turn that anxiety into positivity by personally committing to take action.

Go to the Diocesan Social Action Office website at http://www.ccdocle.org/dsao to discover how you can be a part of the solution to many of today's important issues by providing help, creating hope and being of service to others.
